Editorial policy
Golden Regional Report aims to make regional geography clear, careful and useful to curious readers. We distinguish explanation from interpretation and take care not to present a broad pattern as a rule that fits every place.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual claims against suitable, identifiable sources before publication and use specific wording where a geographic feature or process varies by place. We avoid unsupported precision and explain uncertainty when the available information does not justify a firm conclusion. Our articles are explanatory, not substitutes for local expertise or official guidance.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader interest and relevance to regional geography. A commercial relationship does not buy editorial conclusions or a favourable account. Where a relationship could reasonably affect how a reader interprets material, we make that connection clear.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or unclear explanation, please contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests and, where a change is warranted, update the text and identify the correction in a clear way.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid placements, sponsored material and other partner contributions are labelled so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when they are, we identify them as AI-generated and do not present them as documentary photographs.
Place makes more sense when you see its patterns.
Look beyond the names on a map. Land, water and routes can help explain how a region fits together.
