A closer look at the landscapes and living patterns of regions.

Golden Regional Report

Write for us

Golden Regional Report welcomes thoughtful pitches about regional geography, from the shape of a landscape to the routes and settlement patterns that help explain a place. Send proposals through the Contact page.

What to pitch

Propose one clear, evergreen question about landforms, waterways, climate, settlements or routes. A strong pitch explains the central idea, why it will interest a general reader and how it differs from a familiar map description. We welcome accessible explanations, comparisons and histories grounded in a specific geographic idea.

Make it clear and careful

Tell us what the piece will help readers understand, what examples you would use and what reliable sources could support the explanation. Keep specialist terms to a minimum, explain any that matter, and be candid about uncertainty. Avoid claims that need local rules or professional advice to act on.

How to send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial enquiry option. Include a working title, a short summary, your proposed approach and any relevant writing samples or source suggestions. A proposal is not a commission, and we cannot promise publication or a response time.

Our point of view

Place makes more sense when you see its patterns.

Look beyond the names on a map. Land, water and routes can help explain how a region fits together.
